2007 – Joined ThyssenKrupp Uhde, now thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions (tkIS).
Hired as the first biologist. For 10years involved in every Biotech relevant due-diligence and feasibility at tkIS.
Development of the proprietary gypsum free Uhde-Lactic Acid Technology in Leipzig, tolling in the Czech Republic. Process responsibility for Succinic Acid and co-founder of the Uhde-Myriant Alliance. Development of the Uhde-Process for Succinic Acid separation based on the Lactic Acid Technology.
2011 – Lead Process Engineer for the Myriant Succinic Acid Plant in Lake Providence, LA, USA, later Engineering Manager at Ch2M Hill in Spartanburg, SC. then Head of Commissioning and Start-Up. Head of Process/Engineering at the Biotechnologies Division in Leuna, Germany.
2015 – Leading the Business and Project Development activities for the Industrial Biotechnology in the Organic Chemicals and Polymers portfolio of tkIS PT in Frankfurt, Germany.
2017 – Moved to Denmark and joined the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability. Director of the Pre-Pilot Plant Facilities at the Center, establishing smart Scale-Up, separation and purification facilities, integrated workflows and inter-disciplinary teams.
2018 – Now Director of the Translational Core of the Center, the fully integrated Strain Engineering, Bioprocessing Scale-Up and Piloting Facility as well as the Analytical Core Facilities. Responsible for the ideation, feasibility, acceleration and commercialization of bio-based chemicals and proteins. Member of the Executive Board.
