Meri Siljama is the Senior Policy Advisor of the Nordic Family Forestry (NSF) and the Confederation of European Forest Owners (CEPF). Based in Brussels, CEPF is the umbrella organization representing the interests of millions of private forest owners across Europe. CEPF promotes the concept of family forestry and the values of sustainable forest management, ownership rights and the economic viability of the forest sector. Meri is responsible of CEPF’s advocacy on the EU Forest Strategy and forest-related EU policies such as sustainable finance, climate, energy, bioeconomy and circular economy. Meri joined CEPF in 2014 and has been working as an Interim Secretary General and Project Manager. In addition, Meri has gained working experience from the Finnish Liaison office of Business Finland and Academy of Finland. Furthermore, Meri has been working for the UK Research Office in Brussels and University of Helsinki.
She has a master’s degree in forestry from the University of Helsinki.
