Vlasta Kubušová founded the crafting plastics! studio (cp!s) in 2016, based between Berlin & Bratislava. cp!s is an interdisciplinary research material and design studio focused on exploring the possibilities and introduction of innovative and sustainable materials into our day-to-day lives. Since her graduation from University of Arts in Berlin (2015), the studio has been collaborating with chemists from Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava to develop the new generation of bioplastics for consumer goods.
The first products of cp!s explore sustainable, transparent production processes in response to exploitative practices in the fashion industry, and have been presented all over the Europe and won several international prizes, including Diploma Selection (2016), Slovak National Design Award, as well as nominations for German Design Award (2018) and Green Product Award (2017).
In 2018 Vlasta was selected as a member of Slovak Forbes 30under30, and in the same year, cp! studio’s long-term collaboration with material scientists has resulted in NUATAN™ – a selection of sustainable blends meant to be an ecological alternative to synthetic plastics for value-added products.
